Contax Distagon 28 F2.8 AE
Contax Distagon 28 F2.8 MM
Olympus Zuiko 28 F2.0
Olympus Zuiko 28 F2.8
Olympus Zuiko 28 F3.5
Kiron 28 F2.0
Canon EF 17-40/4 L at 28mm
Canon EF 24-70/2.8 L at 28mm
A few of the tested lenses on a Canon 5D2

The centre value in every vignetting sample image shown below is exactly the same. Any vignetting appears as a darkening of the images from the centre towards the edges.

Place cursor over aperture value to see sample image.

Test Conditions

Lenses where focused at infinity, on a tripod with identical test conditions.
No UV or protective filters where used.
Shot on a Canon 5D2 at ISO100 in RAW then converted to sRGB jpegs in Phase One Capture One.
Vignetting correction was disabled during RAW conversion.
The centre of every exposure is identical as each image was adjusted to 128 R/G/B during RAW conversion then fully desaturated.
